The boat is covered and put away for the winter. I've started on winter chores like re-painting the dinghy, which is almost done. Bought new VHF radio with remote mic, two new cleats for amidships.  Am trying to sell the Luke fisherman's anchor on craigslist. Here are some new pics. I bought new halyards and have to splice on the thimbles and shackles.

Went to Kittery and motored the boat upriver to Patton's boatyard where Summer Song will spend the winter.  I have to build a frame to hold the winter cover, which I will do next week and start making new halyards and maybe new sheets.  I also want to build new dorade boxes for the two vents in front of the cabin.

Boat sailed to Kittery, Me. due to Hurricane kyle meeting me that weekend around Gloucester.  So I went to plan B which was the Kittery Point Boat Yard for the winter.  I am waiting for it to be hauled so I can build a cover and do some work on it.

have bought an H-28 sailboat in Harpswell, Me. I expect to take possision of it by the end of the month and sail it to Branford, Ct. and keep it at the Dutch Wharf boatyard. I am building an Eastport Pram in my garage to use as a tender for the H-28.  When all of this is settled, I plan to put my house on the market and if it sells by Nov. 15th I will sail to the Carib. for the winter.

Went to the WoodenBoat Show yesterday. Greeat as usual, but I was disappointed that a boat that has a hybred propulsion system did not makke there. Iwas looking forward to seeing it.  Saw kim and all the people from WoodenBoat, Matt, Carl, Mike, Scott. Sorry Rich didn't make it. I thenwent to Westport, Ma. to see the Friendship sloop. It is beautiful, well maintained and reasonablly priced.  I will look at the Meadowlark again, I hope, and make a decision soon.

Went to maine to see an Herreshoff H-28, and then down to Essex, Ma. to see a dinghy. I'm not going to buy either, but had a great lunch at Woodman's of Essex. Clams, fries, onion rings. Really good!  Stop by if your're ever in the area.

This is going to be a busy week, boatwise. I go to Maine to look at a boat tomorrow, along with a dingy in Mass. Then on Tuesday, hopefully, I go up to Lake Champlain to look at a leeboard ketch. Finally, on Friday I go the the WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport and hopefully there might be one or two for sale there. Then I am going the see a well known Friendship Sloop in Westport, Mass. So By the end of the month I hope to be aboard something and on my way to a new life, living aboard and cruising.
